Device is running too hot! Performance is degraded! Error in Excavator

If you experience "Device is running too hot! Performance is degraded!"  error in Excavator, it mean that your GPU is thermal throttling due to overheating.

This error only shows when the device is thermal throttling due to overheating and it should be acted on immediately. The GPU can thermal throttle due to high GPU core temperature or too high VRAM temperatures. High VRAM temperatures are common with RTX 3000 series.

Possible solutions:

• Lower power limit so that the GPU draws less power. Less power = less heat output.
• Make sure that the GPU has enough airflow. Either open your PC case or move the GPU away from other GPUs on your rig.
• Make sure fans are spinning at higher percentage.
• Clean the dust off the GPU.
• Change thermal paste or/and thermal pads on memory chips.
• Select Efficient optimize profile in QuickMiner.
