How to access NiceHash OS locally

PREREQUISITES

  • Access to a mining machine with a running NiceHash OS system
  • Keyboard and monitor connected to the mining machine.

Connecting the monitor to the rig

Connect your monitor to the GPU that is in the primary PCIe slot (usually the one closest to the CPU but not necessary).

How to log into the system

Turn the rig on and wait for the NiceHash OS to boot. There is no password required to log in locally.

NiceHash OS interface

Once NiceHash OS finishes booting you will be presented with the NiceHash OS display interface with various features separated into sections. You can select the desired feature by clicking on it with the mouse.

1. Main NHM4 Monitoring display shows:

  • NHOS version
  • NHM4 version
  • AMD driver version
  • Nvidia driver version
  • Kernel version
  • Included plugins and their version
  • Mining address
  • Worker name
  • Rig ID
  • Hardware status

2. Application log shows the NiceHash OS log from boot.

3. Device log shows the logs for the selected hardware device (GPU or CPU) and its mining info.

4. The Terminator is started by clicking the Terminator icon in the top left corner. You can use it to run various useful commands that for example shut down the rig, restart the rig or commands to enable and upload logs:

  • Shut down rig: sudo poweroff
  • Restart rig: sudo reboot
  • Save logs on USB key: sudo mkdir /nhos-config/system/log
  • Send logs to NiceHash: sudo /nhos/sbin/system-dump.sh --push
