My browser antivirus software reports NHM as a virus

In this article, we are going to explain how to download NiceHash Miner and how to install it without getting a red flag from your browser or antivirus software.
Google Chrome
Navigate to Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Sync and Google services. Here you should uncheck »Safe browsing«. Now you should be able to download NiceHash Miner without any problems. Once your download of the NiceHash Miner software is complete you can turn this Chrome feature back on.
Mozilla Firefox
Navigate to Preferences -> Privacy & Security. Under the Security section uncheck »Block dangerous and deceptive content«. Download NiceHash Miner and once your download of the NiceHash Miner software is complete you can turn this Firefox feature back on.
Opera
Navigate to Preferences -> Privacy & security. First, you have to check and then uncheck »Protect me from malicious sites«. After you download the NiceHash Miner software you can turn this Opera feature back on.
Edge
Navigate to Settings -> View advanced settings. Turn off the »Help protect me from malicious sites and downloads with Windows Defender SmartScreen«. When your download of the NiceHash Miner software is complete you can turn this setting back on.
Antivirus Software
NiceHash tries to work with many different antivirus companies to whitelist the official NiceHash Miner software. Sometimes we still get a false positive and the antivirus software will block the installation or normal operation of the program. Please make an exception for the NiceHash Miner installation location in your antivirus software and the program should work without problems. If you still experience problems related to antivirus software, please do contact your antivirus provider company.
Users have also reported some issues with ASUS routers. ASUS routers utilize "AiProtection" ("Vulnerability Protection" on older models) to block NiceHash communication with stratum servers. If you are using an ASUS router and you have issues with timeouts, try to disable ASUS AiProtection.
