QuickMiner changed the algorithm to ETChash on its own?

As a part of making sure that our users are always getting the highest possible payrates, we prepared a feature inside NiceHash QuickMiner that allows us to manually change the default mining algorithm in QuickMiner. If you never manually switched the algorithm from DaggerHashimoto or if you are still mining DaggerHashimoto, you will receive a popup that QuickMiner started mining another algorithm.

Before The Merge, the default mining algorithm was DaggerHashimoto. After The Merge we will set the default mining algorithm to ETCHash (Ethereum Classic). There are three main reasons for this decision. 

• We think ETChash will be one of the more profitable algorithms,
• Moving from mining DaggerHashimoto to Ethereum Classic will be less stressful for the GPUs because the same optimize profiles are applied on both algorithms.
• Users might not be OK if we picked KawPow. KawPow uses about 20% more power compared to ETChash or DaggerHashimoto.
