Flux halving

Flux, similarly to Bitcoin, is halving block reward every 655,350 blocks. Because one block is generated approximately every 2 minutes, the halving happens approximately every 2.5 years.

The current Flux block reward is 37.5 FLUX. After the halving, the total block reward will be halved from 37.5 FLUX to 18.75 FLUX.

It is important to note that FLUX only rewards miners with 50% of the block reward. The other 50% is split between Masternodes. This means that the current mining reward is 18.75 FLUX, and the upcoming block reward for miners will be 9.375 FLUX.

The Masternodes reward is split between:

• Miners (50%)
  
• Stratus Node (30%)
• Nimbus Node (12.5%)
• Culumus Node (7.5%)

The previous Flux halving date was on the 8th of February 2023 and this will be Flux's 3rd halving.

Why was this done?
