PSA: Mining issues with NVIDIA drivers v511.23 or newer

Dear NiceHash miners!

We have noticed that mining with the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers version 511.xx and above can cause issues on full hashrate GPUs (non-LHR) for some users. A symptom is a significantly lower hashrate, up to 50% or even lower for some algorithms like DaggerHashimoto.

To resolve this issue, follow this article and install NVIDIA drivers version 472.12 or 472.84 which are known to work without these problems.

Note that this applies only to RTX 3000 series, we have not noticed any issues on the older GPUs.

Sometimes a similar issue can happen on QuickMiner v0.5.3.3 Stable release where excavator console shows LHR locks on full hashrate GPUs. This is a known bug that was fixed on QuickMiner v0.5.3.5 Release candidate and later. Please update to the latest RC if you are experiencing LHR locks on FHR GPUs.

Install QM 0.5.3.5 RC

The issues are not related to each other and could easily be mistaken. If the Excavator console shows LHR locks on full hashrate GPUs, then you should update to the latest Release candidate. If you are using NVIDIA drivers v511.xx or newer, and the hashrate is low, then you should roll back the NVIDIA drivers.
