Units for SHA256 and SHA256AsicBoost algorithm hashpower orders will change from PH/s to EH/s
In order to make bidding for hashing power on SHA256 and SHA256AsicBoost algorithms more accurate and competitive, we will be switching from PH/s to EH/s units for hashing power purchases at 12PM CET on the 23rd of November.
If you're a buyer you'll have to take this change into account while placing new SHA256 or SHA256AsicBoost orders. For example, instead of the current price of 0.0041 (in units BTC/PH/Day) you'll have to enter 4.1000 (new unit will be BTC/EH/Day).
If you have some automated applications/scripts, utilizing automatic placement of new orders, you'll have to change them accordingly to make them compatible with the new units.
If you are a seller (provider/miner) with SHA256 or SHA256AsicBoost miners and you're using the price setting in the stratum password parameter on your miners, then you'll have to adjust this setting accordingly - otherwise no action is required for sellers of hashing power.
All web page views/functionalities for SHA256 and SHA256AsicBoost algorithms will change, including but not limited to:
- algorithms table (PH -> EH)
- order list (PH -> EH)
- order details (PH -> EH)
- new order (PH -> EH)
API methods: stats.global.current, stats.global.24h, orders.get (price in EH, limit in EH), orders.get&my, orders.create (price, limit in EH/s), orders.set.limit, order.set.price
Please keep in mind that these changes apply only for SHA256 and SHA256AsicBoost, all other algorithms will be unaffected. Therefore, we kindly ask you to please keep in mind if you are a regular SHA256 or SHA256AsicBoost hashing power buyer to make sure that placement of new orders will be in line with this small change.
NOTE: AsicBoost is a method of speeding up Bitcoin mining supported by many ASIC models. Not all pools support AsicBoost, thus, we have created a separate SHA256AsicBoost algorithm and SHA256 remains available independently.
