At first we only had eyes for Bitcoin, but as we grew and the crypto scene evolved, we became much more than that…

The Smiley has always reflected our commitment to keeping technology fun and accessible to everyone. NiceHash first started in 2014 around a hobby for mining that quickly became a passion, and then a much bigger dream of making mining accessible to everyone who has a computer. The first Smiley reflected this fun, start up approach, where we ‘gamified’ crypto mining from what it was back then.

Things went fast, as Nicehash was the first company to offer algorithm switching together with easy to use one-click software. The genius of our founder Matjaz Skorjanc's vision and programming skills built a unique product and concept that almost everyone in the mining world has heard of. The platform grew exponentially fast to something much bigger, and the Bitcoin Eyes Smiley was introduced, reflecting the boom of bitcoin across the world and all eyes suddenly started to take notice.

Quick success did not come without its challenges, and in 2017 things were looking pretty bad for the future. Once again, our team's determination to succeed and refusal to give up allowed us to make the necessary changes to repay our affected users, and we have grown stronger and stronger since then, and become one of the most security focused crypto companies.
