NiceHash Highlights from the Mining Disrupt Conference in Miami

“”

Our NiceHash team participated in The Mining Disrupt Conference, held from June 24-26, 2024, in Miami. As the world's largest Bitcoin mining conference and expo, it provided a platform for industry leaders, miners, and business partners to converge and discuss the future of mining. NiceHash showcased our innovations, forged valuable business connections, and contributed to critical industry discussions.

Next to NiceHash, more than 200 companies were attending the conference, such as:

and many other great mining companies.

The mining industry is still going strong. Many innovative and great companies are pushing the limits of Bitcoin mining.

Engaging at our Booth

NiceHash booth provided an excellent venue for networking, allowing us to engage in discussions with existing and potential partners.

We demonstrated our latest mining solutions, emphasizing how our technology can enhance miners' efficiency and profitability.

We also had in-depth discussions with partners and clients about our innovative firmware powered by MARA, which promises to revolutionize mining operations with enhanced performance and reliability.

At the booth, we mostly talked about three things:

  • NiceHash Hashrate marketplace and how miners can earn more by using NiceHash. The marketplace is an open market where the price is set by demand and supply.
  • NiceHash Custom ASIC Firmware and Why it is Beneficial for mining farms
  • NiceHash Docker Miner and how it can benefit HPC data centers by monetizing idle computing resources by mining and getting paid in Bitcoin.

Marko Tarman's speech: Rejected speed is a silent profitability killer

A key highlight of our participation was the speech delivered by Marko Tarman, our Lead Mining Manager. His presentation, titled "Rejected Speed is a Silent Profitability Killer," addressed a critical but often overlooked issue in the mining industry: rejected shares.

Rejected shares are mining shares that are rejected by the pool, representing lost income opportunities. Marko drew an analogy to a restaurant dish lacking essential ingredients, emphasizing the importance of every share meeting the required standards. Marko provided actionable solutions, such as lowering latency between the miner and the pool, updating firmware, and optimizing overclock settings, to help miners reduce rejected shares and enhance profitability.

Discussion Panel: The AI Revolution is Here

Marko Tarman also participated in a high-profile discussion panel titled "The AI Revolution is Here," which examined the potential convergence of cryptocurrency mining and artificial intelligence. Moderated by Taras Kulyk from SunnySide Digital, the panel featured industry luminaries including: Arland Whitfield from Frontier Mining, Alan Gallo from JSBIT, Matt Brown from Core Scientific, Medi Naseri from LOD, Gabriel Ibghy from Hive Blockchain and Philip Salter from Genesis Digital Assets.

The panel explored how AI can be integrated into mining operations to optimize performance and efficiency, presenting a forward-looking perspective on the industry's evolution.

Participants underscored the necessity for mining companies to stay at the forefront of technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

The Mining Disrupt Conference in Miami was a resounding success for NiceHash. Our presence at the event facilitated valuable business engagements, showcased our cutting-edge solutions, and reinforced our position as a leader in the Bitcoin mining sector. The knowledge and connections gained from this conference will undoubtedly influence our strategic direction and contribute to our continued success.
