NiceHash Mining and Hashpower marketplace

NiceHash’s main service is connecting sellers (miners) and buyers of hashing power. Buyers place orders on the live marketplace and bid for the price of hashing (computational) power. The currency used for paying for the hashing power is Bitcoin. That is why all miners get paid in Bitcoin, no matter what coin they are mining.

NiceHash Mining

The most widely used service is mining. Mining might not be the correct word for it since, in reality, a miner at NiceHash is selling hashing power to the highest bidder.

Because buyers are placing orders for hashing power on the live marketplace, there is an automatic profit switching between all the coins on a single algorithm. For example, the DaggerHashimoto algorithm is being used by multiple coins like Ethereum, Callisto, and Expanse. Miners do not need to deal with manual profit switching between these coins because the buyers are already competing against each other for the miners.

Additionally, miners who are using NiceHash Miner or NiceHash OS are also benefiting from algorithm switching. This means that the miner will switch to a different algorithm if it finds it more profitable. For example, a miner can switch from DaggerHashimoto (Ethereum) to KAWPOW (Ravencoin) if a KAWPOW buyer is willing to pay more for the miner.

Hashpower marketplace is used by advanced users. These users are also called buyers of hashing power.

If another buyer outbids him, the miners will be moved to the higher paying order. If the first buyer wants to get more hashing power (e.g. more miners), he must increase the price of the order to attract the miners again.
