RTX 4090 owners report that NVIDIA’s 12-pin adapters are melting!

Owners of the 2 weeks old RTX 4090 GPU turned to Reddit and other social media platforms to share their negative experiences with NVIDIA’s own adapter for the 12VHPWR 12-pin power connector, which was introduced with the RTX 3000 series. This connector is rated to handle 600W, and it replaces the typical 3 8-pin PCI-E power connectors you would otherwise see on a GPU.

However, such a high load passing through a single connector can pose some problems if something is off by just a bit. Sadly, some gamers with the new RTX 4090 reported having had this adapter melt or burn. Igor’sLab investigated this issue and determined that the poor build quality of some adapters were causing the thin bridges, where the power cables are soldered to, to break. Bending the cable close to the adapter may break these thin bridges, causing the high resistance and extreme temperatures capable of melting the adapter. NVIDIA is still investigating what is causing this anomaly.

Due to these issues, AMD has stated that they will not use this new 12VHPWR connector in their upcoming RDNA3 GPUs.

Twitter to develop its own Crypto Wallet?

A rumor has been circulating that Twitter could be developing their own Crypto Wallet. The allegations come from Jane Wong on Twitter, where she states that “Twitter is working on a “wallet prototype” that supports “crypto deposit and withdrawal””.

It is unclear how this information was obtained. However, this year Twitter introduced tipping with crypto and NFTs as profile pictures, so one could see a crypto wallet as being the logical next step. Will this ever come to fruition? Only time will tell, but the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk might certainly give it a push!

The second EasyMining Bitcoin block was caugth just a week after the first one!

Seven days passed and a second Bitcoin block worth over 6.3 Bitcoin (almost 130,000 USD) was found by another NiceHash user with EasyMining! The block was found on Thursday and can be seen on the blockchain. EasyMining allows anyone to try to catch blocks on various blockchains, increasing their network security, decentralizing the hashpower and bringing the voting power back into the hands of regular people that do not have the knowledge or hardware to run large mining operations.
