The dangers of such policies threaten user security and blockchain development. Microsoft is choosing to ignore the risks and is deliberately taking an anti-cryptocurrency stance.

Companies like Microsoft see financial decentralization as a threat to their monopoly and instead choose to block, mislabel, or outright delete legitimate mining software. Software such as QuickMiner, XMRig, LolMiner, NBminer, and even Monero WALLET are all being suppressed by this policy.

Help us to stop Microsoft’s discriminatory policy! You deserve the right to decide to run mining software or not, and what you do with your computer is your choice. You should not be forced to disable Windows Defender, or any Anti-Virus, putting your computer, files, and sensitive information at risk from ACTUAL malware, simply because Microsoft is against your right to mine cryptocurrency.

Their argument that they have to block these types of software to prevent unwanted cryptojacking is equal to saying you should ban computers because a tiny percentage of people use them for nefarious purposes. It is simply not logical and highlights Microsoft’s own inability to distinguish good software from bad.
