Antminer Z15 Pro Mining Issues on NiceHash? Read This
If you run an Antminer Z15 Pro and want to mine on NiceHash, please read this first. There is a simple setup step that prevents issues when mining on NiceHash.
This only affects the Z15 Pro. The standard Z15 works normally.
The issue
Some Z15 Pro owners ran into issues when mining on NiceHash. In the cases we looked at, the hash board cables were plugged into the wrong control board slots. The boards were connected to CH3 or to slots 1 to 3 instead of 0 to 2.
After fixing the cable order and updating the firmware, the miners ran normally.
The fix
This instruction comes from Bitmain:
Connect hash boards 0, 1, 2 to control board slots CH0, CH1, CH2 in order.
So hash board 0 goes to CH0, hash board 1 goes to CH1, and hash board 2 goes to CH2. Open the unit, check the ribbon cables on the control board, and swap them if they are in the wrong slots.
Also make sure the miner type and firmware type match before you upgrade the firmware.

Quick checklist
- Power down and unplug the miner.
- Open the unit and find the control board.
- Confirm hash boards 0, 1, 2 go to slots CH0, CH1, CH2 in order.
- Reseat the ribbon cables if needed.
- Close up, update the firmware, and start mining.

A note on safety
This guidance comes from Bitmain. Working inside a miner means working with electronics and heat, so please be careful. NiceHash is not responsible for any damage or injury that may happen while you open or service your hardware. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, ask a qualified technician.
Why mine the Z15 Pro on NiceHash
Once the cables are in the right order, your Z15 Pro runs as expected on NiceHash. The advantage is that you get paid in Bitcoin instead of Zcash. You keep mining the same algorithm, but your rewards land in BTC. For many miners that is the main reason to switch.
