2FA security is now mandatory for adding new withdrawal addresses!
Dear NiceHash users!
To improve the security of your NiceHash account the use of 2FA (two-factor authentication) is now mandatory when adding new withdrawal addresses and bank accounts.
What is 2FA?
2FA or 'two-factor authentication' provides you with an additional security step when logging into your account, withdrawing funds from your NiceHash wallet or placing a new order. You can enable it in your settings. Make sure you also secure your email with 2FA!
How to enable 2FA security?
To enable your 2FA for your NiceHash account please follow these steps:
1. Login to your NiceHash account.
2. Go to your Settings page.
3. Navigate to the Security section.
4. Click Enable 2-Factor Authentication button.
5. Download the Google Authenticator app to your smartphone.
6. Open the Google Authenticator app and add a new account.
7. Scan the barcode provided on the screen.
8. Click Next and enter your Verification code (sent to email) and 6-digit 2FA security code provided by the Google Authenticator app.
9. Click Verify.
10. In the last step, please save all 2FA backup codes and close the window.
If you lose access to your authentication device, you can use one of these backup codes. Each code may be used once. Make a copy of these codes, and store it somewhere safe. Learn how to use 2FA backup codes here.
